John Hartford once told me that "As any good riverboat captain knows, it is the Mississippi that flows into the Missouri River. The mapmakers decided otherwise."
Near the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers is a rather unassuming harbor - home to hundred or so yachts. The Duck Club Yacht Club.
Gated, manicured....more of a country club. It's pretty sharp.
On Saturday we played at the celebratio0n of two 40th birthdays - Tom Gould and Jim Fenning. Probably about a hundred people there. Lots of friends, old and new. The weather was nice, a little humid at the end of the night.
Those river people have a neat mindset. They like to have fun - they like to party.
A really nice group of people.
