Pop quiz:
Q. What do these performers have in common - Elvis Presley, Chet Atkins, Roy Orbison, the Everly Brothers, Willie Nelson, and Serapis?
A. They've all recorded at RCA Studio B, in Nashville, TN.
It was pretty unbelievable. You don't really have to be a country music fan to appreciate playing on the same piano that was used to record "Are You Lonesome Tonight" and "Oh, Pretty Woman", or recording with Chet Atkins amplifier.
The Serapis Tour Bus (The Sarcophagus) rolled into Music City Friday afternoon with a polilce escort. (OK, actually they were chasing us - but we lost them in a construction zone).
Working on material for a new cd, we spent the weekend recording (until 1:00AM). We laid down several new songs, and even re-worked a couple old favorites. We will continue recording at the RCA Studio, as well as Imagitrax in St. Louis.
Nick Spezia was the engineer for the project, and we all had a blast.
Pictures will be up in a day or two.

More Snow in Kirkwood
More weekend snow in the heartland of America.
Tonight's gig was at PJ's in Kirkwood. The crowd was great. Lots of old friends, lots of new fans. We really like playing there, be sure to stop in the next time we are there (which will be in April)
We're busy working up material to record in Nashville next weekend. (Jan 26/27) We have new songs, and plan to re-record a couple of fan favorites from our 1989 "Allergic To Fun" release.
Thanks to everyone who came out in the snow tonight.

No phone, no lights, no motor-cars.
So this is how it's going to be. Starting the year with an ice storm - and having to cancel our first show of '07.
No power, power lines down, trees through houses, fires. These are the issues that Serapis was dealing with, and the reasons for the cancellation of last Saturday night's show at The Famous Bar.
Sorry to the thousands of fans who showed up and camped out in the freezing weather while waiting to get in. We'll be back at The FB (on Chippewa) in March.
Serapis is hard at work on new material for a new cd. This will be the band's third full-length project. No release date has been announced.
More next time, thanks.
Stay warm.

Here's to 2007
Well, 2006 was good to the band. We stayed quite busy, played some neat shows, and made a lot of new friends.
The band is celebrating 25 years of Serapis this year, and 2007 is almost full.
At the end of January the band is heading to Nashville to do some recording at the legendary RCA Studio B. This place has history just dripping from it's walls.
